A leather guard designed to protect the axe handle, particularly the part near the head, from overstrikes. This guard, also known as a handle guard or axe collar, is tied around the handle with the included leather laces. The shaft protector is made in Sweden from the hides of Swedish cows, respecting animals and the environment. The leather is vegetable-tanned top grain leather, providing excellent durability and a beautiful aging process over time.
