Choosing a Sordin Supreme headset

The Sordin Supreme X2 and Supreme Pro-X are electronic hearing protectors for hunting and shooting. Both offer selectable sound profiles to adapt ambient sound reproduction to different situations. X2 uses SordinHEAR2 with four profiles and the SordinFLEX modular platform, which allows compatible suspension parts to be changed. Depending on configuration, it comes with gel or memory-foam cushions and a headband, neckband or other suspension option. Its 3.5 mm AUX input can connect to a phone or hunting radio.

Supreme Pro-X also has four sound profiles and a 3.5 mm AUX input on listed configurations. Its compact cups are designed for efficient attenuation, including when worn with glasses, and its microphones and battery compartment have an IP67-tested design. Pro-X models use two AAA batteries. Sordin states a five-year warranty for the electronic functions, including ambient sound and communication.

Supreme T2 is intended for tactical use by military, law-enforcement and security personnel. It is a MIL-rated, level-dependent hearing protector with a compact cup design. Suspension options include headband, neckband and helmet-rail configurations, depending on the version. T2 CC versions add a built-in downlead and boom microphone for connection to a push-to-talk unit and radio. Check the specific model for its communication fittings and suspension.

Fit and company background

The X2’s interchangeable suspension choices and gel or memory-foam cushions let users select a fit to suit their setup. Pro-X has its own headband options, while T2 configurations include options for helmet mounting. These are model-specific choices, so compare the product configuration when selecting a headset. Sordin’s product history began with hearing protection developed in the late 1970s; the company introduced its Sordin Classic hearing protector in 1987.
