Spyderco was founded in 1978 in Golden, Colorado. Spyderco created many features that are now common in folding knives, including the pocket clip, blade serrations and Spyderco's trademark opening hole. They have been collaborating with many custom knifemakers, athletes, and self-defence instructors around the world. Spyderco has pioneered the use of 20 different blade materials, including CPM-SV60V, CPM-S90V, H-1 and others. This model features a Leaf-shaped blade made from the exceptionally wear-resistant K390 steel, which stays sharp for a very long time. Despite its extreme hardness (up to HRC 64), the steel is reasonably tough. K390 is not stainless, but with proper care, corrosion can be effectively prevented.
The FRN handle provides both texture and ergonomics, ensuring a secure grip even in wet conditions. A convenient polymer sheath is also included.
