Spyderco was founded in 1978 in Golden, Colorado. Spyderco created many features that are now common in folding knives, including the pocket clip, blade serrations and Spyderco's trademark opening hole. They have been collaborating with many custom knifemakers, athletes, and self-defence instructors around the world. Spyderco has pioneered the use of 20 different blade materials, including CPM-SV60V, CPM-S90V, H-1 and others. The company invests a lot in research and development in order to keep producing the high-quality reliable cutting tools designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
The compact Spyderco Swick 5 SpyderEdge neck knife was designed by Sal Glesser, the legendary founder of Spyderco. For inspiration, Glesser drew from the work of renowned French knifemaker Fred Perrin.
Although the Swick 5 SpyderEdge is not a large knife, it sits firmly even in bigger hands. The finger hole in the handle enhances grip security and improves overall safety.
This version features a serrated SpyderEdge blade made of nitrogen-alloyed LC200N steel – extremely hard and highly corrosion-resistant. The iconic Round Hole confirms its genuine Spyderco identity. The full-tang handle is made of G10 composite, a fiberglass and epoxy-based material that is moisture-resistant, durable, and virtually maintenance-free.
A Boltaron sheath with a ball chain provides versatile carry options.
The Spyderco Swick 5 is also available with a Wharncliffe blade.
