Spyderco was founded in 1978 in Golden, Colorado. Spyderco created many features that are now common in folding knives, including the pocket clip, blade serrations and Spyderco's trademark opening hole. They have been collaborating with many custom knifemakers, athletes, and self-defence instructors around the world. Spyderco has pioneered the use of 20 different blade materials, including CPM-SV60V, CPM-S90V, H-1 and others. The company invests a lot in research and development in order to keep producing the high-quality reliable cutting tools designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
Named after the mythical Japanese sea monster, the Spyderco Ikuchi is a user-friendly folding knife designed for everyday use. It is the innovative creation of Paul Alexander, a seasoned expert and dedicated enthusiast, offering a high-quality EDC knife for home, work, or hobbies.
The blade is made from premium CPM S30V powdered steel, a top-tier material for high-performance knives. This high-carbon, chromium-rich steel contains 4% vanadium and 2% molybdenum, providing excellent toughness and wear resistance while remaining corrosion-resistant. The blade opens smoothly via a lever and also features Spyderco’s signature Round Hole thumb opener.
The handle combines carbon fiber and G10 scales with stainless steel liners, continuing the knife’s easy-care theme. The strong and secure Compression Lock mechanism ensures reliable operation every time.
Weighing only 60 grams, the Ikuchi is an exceptionally ergonomic and streamlined folding knife. Perfect for turning everyday routines into a small luxury, it also makes a fine addition to any knife collector’s set.
