Spyderco was founded in 1978 in Golden, Colorado. Spyderco created many features that are now common in folding knives, including the pocket clip, blade serrations and Spyderco's trademark opening hole. They have been collaborating with many custom knifemakers, athletes, and self-defence instructors around the world. Spyderco has pioneered the use of 20 different blade materials, including CPM-SV60V, CPM-S90V, H-1 and others. The company invests a lot in research and development in order to keep producing the high-quality reliable cutting tools designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
The Spyderco Smock is a compact, user-friendly folding knife designed by the award-winning visionary Kevin Smock, known for his handcrafted custom knives. This model is based on his legendary SK23 design.
It blends classic elements with modern design while using top-tier materials. The result is an exceptional EDC knife: high-performing, yet easy to maintain.
The blade is made from CPM S30V steel, a premium American powdered steel with 4% vanadium for exceptional toughness and durability. With 14% chromium, the steel resists corrosion and wear, ensuring long-lasting performance.
The 8.5 cm Wharncliffe blade opens with a lever and features Spyderco’s signature Round Hole thumb opener. Blade locking is handled by Spyderco’s innovative Compression Lock, providing a secure and reliable mechanism.
Handle scales are made from textured carbon fiber and durable, low-maintenance G10 composite, with stainless steel liners. A pocket clip allows for easy carry.
The Spyderco Smock weighs 104 grams and measures 11.5 cm when closed.
