Spyderco was founded in 1978 in Golden, Colorado. Spyderco created many features that are now common in folding knives, including the pocket clip, blade serrations and Spyderco's trademark opening hole. They have been collaborating with many custom knifemakers, athletes, and self-defence instructors around the world. Spyderco has pioneered the use of 20 different blade materials, including CPM-SV60V, CPM-S90V, H-1 and others.
