Spyderco Jani-Song knife C191GP
The Spyderco Jani-Song draws inspiration from the legendary balisong, but American knife designer Michael Janich has given it a completely new twist. Introduced in 2016, this knife combines classic aesthetics with modern innovation. Its mechanism is truly unique: the blade, inner handle, and outer handle are all connected to the same pivot pin. When the blade is deployed, the pin locks tightly into both handles, securing the blade firmly in place.
The Jani-Song can be opened quickly and safely using multiple techniques. A lever on the handle releases the inner handle. Rotating the inner handle 360 degrees reveals the blade and locks it in ready-to-use position. The same technique works for closing the knife.
The spear-point blade is made from American CPM S30V powdered steel. With 14% chromium and 4% vanadium, this steel is extremely tough, durable, and corrosion-resistant—perfect for everyday use without worrying about rust.
The handle is made from shock-resistant, low-maintenance, latex- and epoxy-based G10 composite, while both the inner and frame handles are stainless steel. A four-position pocket clip allows discreet carry.
The Spyderco Jani-Song is a safer alternative to traditional balisongs. Ideal as an EDC knife, for flipping tricks, or as a standout piece in any knife collection
