Böker Germany

Started from a small hardware factory of the Böker family in Germany in the 17th century, Böker became famous in 1869 when they launched their tree-brand knives developed in cooperation with the well-known cutlery-expert Hermann Heuser. The history of Böker has been affected by eventful times, but two things remained: passion and enthusiasm for extraordinary knives. Böker was one of the first companies to offer ceramic knives as a featured product line.

I decided to add this knife to my collection of daggers 🗡, my thoughts are as follows. This knife is quite simply a weapon, because of this it has not much visual appeal at all other than the classic shape, the sheath at first seemed clunky and clumsy but after sheathing and un sheathing the blade a few times you can really feel how it's supposed to be deployed (single handed attached to a belt or gear etc). The knife was extremely sharp out of the box (unlike some daggers). I wasn't sure how it would feel in my hand as it has no hadle scales but it's surprisingly comfortable and well balanced. The knife is serialised, and seems to have great build quality. The only thing that let's it down as a collectable item is the box which is plain with very basic packaging inside. On the whole I don't regret buying in.

I wanted to have a dagger and this is a great one. Boker have made an excellent Applegate Fairbarn dagger. It's updated but still have the traditional look.
