Very beautiful, with clean lines and extremely functional in all regards. The craftsmanship of, both, the knife and the sheath is at top level and it is all done with great attention on the details. As so, it is accompanied with a certificate, signed by the manufacturer (Jukka Hankala). The used materials and construction are traditional for the high class knives of this this type. The blade is made out of forged K510 carbon steel and has rhombic cross section (slightly expressed) with rounded back spine. The grind is flat with literally hair-thick secondary bevel (which seems more like a stropping line). The factory edge is sharp enough for right out of the box use. The curly birch on the handle is stabilized and very reach in terns of pattern and color. The bolsters are brass and the construction is stick tang. There are absolutely no lefts from machining, no gaps or asymmetries anywhere on the knife and the sheath. In real use the high class of the knife is definitely noticeable. The cuts are completely controllable and precise with minimal effort. The edge retention is great as well. Processing even hard wood as beech does not cause any damage on the edge. The handle is not bulky, but also not too slim, providing pleasant balance of solid feel, maneuverability and comfort at any grip. Also, no feel of hand fatigue appears at intensive work. In conclusion, I am really impressed by the craftsmanship (top level) of Jukka Hankala - incredible synergy between functionality, reliability, traditions and aesthetics.
