Svörd

Svörd is a New Zealand knife manufacturer founded by Bryan Baker. Bryan's knife making was strongly influenced by an elderly Czechoslovakian master, from whom he learned the unique hardening and tempering process. The combination of quality Swedish cutlery steel and Baker's process for heat treatment and tempering produces a truly superb blade.

Großartiges Messer, höchstwahrscheinlich unzerstörbar. Kleiner Wermutstropfen: Die massive Parierstange verhindert, dass das Messer komplett in die Lederscheide einrastet. Die Gürtelschlaufe ist gleichzeitig zu klein - und damit im Wege, so dass von der Klinge immer ca. 5 mm herausschauen. Das hätte anders gelöst werden können.

The Tempsky Bowie ist a great Knife. But unfourtunatelli has mine all over the blade Fingertipps they can not be removed. This are massive fails that normaly can not be sold from Tempsky or Lamnia.

Ein Messer ohne Schnickschnack für die Ewigkeit gebaut mit historischem Hintergrund. Nicht schön, aber ein brachiales Werkzeug, das seinesgleichen sucht. Gehört in jede Sammlung und ist für Outdoorfans die Realisierung des ursprünglichen Entwurfs eines schweren Messers. Offensichtlich immer noch nicht so bekannt, aber trotz gelegentlicher Lieferschwierigkeiten bei Kennern begehrt.

Knife: This is a really well made knife. Sturdy, sharp and BIG. Everything else seems to be a joke in comparison. Needs a bit of experience to sharpen. Lamnia: Very fast delivery. Good packaging. Perfect.

Impressive knife, in my opinion this is the last bowie, not the ultimate one, but the last one. You have many other knives available in the market made out of more advanced steels, but the L6 steel is a good one, very nice swedish steel, and when I say this is the last bowie I mean that this is a real XIX century knife that inherits the philosophy of ancient smiths. It is a big chunk of steel and you can entrust your life on It. I am a knives collector, I have many others made out of different kinds of steels, but, by far, this is my favourite. It is a little bit expensive but It is worth the price. I am very happy with the purchase and Lamnia has a good service. AAA+++.

Grand couteau de type Bowie, assez lourd ( plus de 900 g) et long (+/- 42 cm), mais bien équilibré et robuste. Fourni avec un étui en cuir solide.

Le mien est arrivé avec la lame tachée par points. A l’usage, ça coupe (Bois vert) ... après ce n’est pas non plus un San Mai de ColdSteel. Pourtant je ne suis pas convaincu, la dureté sur le fil annoncée me semble « optimiste ». Bref je le vois plus comme une pioche, lourde et limitée ! Ce n’est pas le modèle que je prendrais pour un raid, un combo hache / et couteau « Scary Sharp » vous sera plus utile. Après, il faut aussi le prendre pour ce qu’il est : la réplique d’un modèle d’une époque où l’on ne savait pas mieux faire ...
