Knivsmed Stromeng Samekniv 5 knife, with fingerguard
Knivsmed Strømeng crafts authentic Sámi knives in Karasjok, Norway – in the heart of Arctic craftsmanship. Each knife reflects centuries of northern tradition.
The Samekniv 5 is a leuku-style Sámi knife, ideal for hiking, hunting, or heavy-duty bushcraft tasks. Whether you see it as a Stuorra-Niibi (large knife) or Unna Niibas (compact one), it handles both roles with ease.
Its 13 cm carbon steel blade offers durability and function, while the oiled birch handle and brass fittings ensure grip and balance. A large finger guard provides added safety during forceful use. The knife is housed in a decorative leather sheath, styled in Sámi tradition.
Samekniv 5 is a multipurpose field knife, survival tool and cultural artifact in one. And beyond its function, it’s a memorable gift or keepsake – as Sámi lore tells, these knives may even carry mystical powers of healing and protection.
