Pekka Tuominen

Pekka Tuominen represents Finnish handicrafts in their most authentic form.

In these custom knives, Finnish knife traditions completely overlap with modern influences.

Tuominen, who was chosen as the knife blacksmith of the year in 2013, proves that the Suomi knife does not always have to repeat the same familiar combination; the almost sacred union of carbon steel and birch.

Rare knives are created in Tuominen's workshop to the delight of collectors, hunters and hikers.

These limited edition knives sell out quickly, so act fast.

Very beautiful knife. I had some problems with it though. After some simple wood cutting (debarking a stick with some knots) the edge chipped quite badly. I had to regrind the edge on my worksharp and now it is fine. I think the edge was to fragile and maybe brittle. Not something I would expect from such an expensive knife. It shoud be useable in normal applications without any problems. After regrinding the edge seems stable and the knife still cuts like a dream. So I am happy with it again. But it should not have happend.
