Description

This great new knife is built as a multi-purpose knife for hunting, bushcraft and general use in the great outdoors. The blade is 10cm long and made using 3.8mm thick Sleipner high carbon tool steel and heat treated to achieve a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The knives are ground with a shaving sharp flat Scandinavian grind and have a satin finish. This steel in combination with the grind makes these knives very strong, yet very easy to sharpen and it takes a great edge.

The knife comes with a sturdy welted sheath made from cognac brown 3mm vegetable tanned full-grain leather. The sheath features an extra wide belt loop, a fluid draining hole and a lanyard hole.

This is a classic design. It’s a great knife, good steel, and well made sheath. With some care and maintenance, this will last a lifetime. Casstrom makes some of the best production knives. It’s hard to beat this price too.

This is my third Casström knife and i absolutely love them. On all, the quality and workmanship is excellent (i believe they are made in Spain even though a Swedish brand). The fit and finish of the handle scales and blade grind, wonderful. The No.10 Forest Knife I purchased is with the sleipner steel, which i believe Casström are using as an upgrade to the K720 steel used before. The blade, 10 cm long, 3.8 mm thick and 27 mm tall with a Scandi grind came very sharp out of the box. I have not used this knife yet but from experience i have been very happy with sleipner steel knives in the past, generally the edge retention holding very well. The handle ergonomics are excellent, the length being great for size 10 hands. The green micarta scales are slightly textured, giving a bit more grip, and beautifully formed. The black leather sheath is thick, robust and very well made (even has a proper drainage hole), however, i would suggest a dangler as the handle does ride higher than the belt loop. The knife sits very snug and secure in the sheath. Value for money for the whole package (Knife and Sheath) is excellent, especially when comparing it with its smaller brother, the "Woodsman" in the same steel, but only fairly good when comparing to similar style knives, native to and also manufactured in Spain. Recommended!

Sehr achönes Messer mit äusserst angenehmen Griffschalen auch für grössere Hände sehr gut geeignet. Die Messerbreite und der Anschliff machen das Messer zu einem super Allrounder. Bim sehr zufrieden.
