Chris Reeve Knives started in 1984 from a single garage attached to a house where Chris was living. The former motorcycle racer channeled his enthusiasm into knifemaking. He worked extremely hard by himself to put as much as possible into every one of his knives and run an independent business. He designed every model with a deliberate approach, taking into account how the knife works and the intended purpose of the knife. Chris Reeve Knives received the ”Manufacturing Quality Award” for twelve consecutive years, from 2001 to 2012, following it up with multiple products receiving ”Knife of the Year” awards.
Made for hard work, the Nyala (nn•yahl•uh) is a skinner and utility knife. Its slightly tapered handle meets an integral guard, keeping its user's hand from riding up during hard use. The spiral linear grooves in the natural canvas micarta handles reinforce a positive grip.
