Ahti knives are made in Kauhava, Finland by the knife-maker Reino Kamppila. The blades are made ​​of carbon-vanadium alloy steel. Curly birch handles are oiled with brown colored linseed oil and the brass fittings are polished.

I have knives costing four times as much, but not better ones. Others might favor carbon steel, but I like not having to worry about rust, when using the knife in a wet environment. The handle is easily large enough for my glove size 8,5 hands. The blade is quite sturdy, yet flexible enough, and came scary sharp. Well made sheath too, one quality grade above Marttiini. If a short blade will do, and you only intend to own one Finnish knife, this would be a good choice.
