Brisa Desert Ironwood, figured
Description
Approx. size: 30 x 40 x 120 mm
Desert Ironwood (also known as Olneya) is extremely hard and heavy. Its density is greater than that of water, so it sinks. One of its popular uses is for knife handles, as its hardness, grain pattern and coloration are ideal for this purpose.
Due to its exceptional hardness, working with Desert Ironwood can be difficult. The final treatment of the wood with solutions may also be challenging due to its high density.
