Böker Germany

Started from a small hardware factory of the Böker family in Germany in the 17th century, Böker became famous in 1869 when they launched their tree-brand knives developed in cooperation with the well-known cutlery-expert Hermann Heuser. The history of Böker has been affected by eventful times, but two things remained: passion and enthusiasm for extraordinary knives. Böker was one of the first companies to offer ceramic knives as a featured product line.

Description

Minimalist design, robust full-metal construction, and an exceptionally corrosion-resistant high-performance steel: the Boker BFF Packlite Cronidur 30 combines the distinctive design language of US knifemaker Lucas Burnley with a configuration focused on EDC, outdoor use, and versatile cutting tasks. As a fixed-blade skeleton knife, neck knife, and hanging knife, this all-metal knife offers functional construction and flexible carry options.

The drop-point blade made from Cronidur 30 with a Rockwell hardness of HRC 59 is aimed at users who particularly value exceptional corrosion resistance, good wear resistance, and stable edge performance. Cronidur 30 was originally developed for applications where corrosion resistance is especially critical and is known for its exceptional resistance to rust and other forms of corrosion. The steel is based on a nitrogen-alloyed stainless composition in which nitrogen plays an important role in its distinctive material properties.

One of Cronidur 30's outstanding characteristics is its exceptionally high corrosion resistance. Its increased nitrogen content enhances the passive layer of the steel and helps the surface remain highly resistant to corrosive influences even under demanding conditions. At the same time, the material composition provides a good combination of hardness, wear resistance, and toughness. At HRC 59, the blade is designed to provide a balanced combination of cutting performance, edge stability, and durability.

Cronidur 30 therefore differs significantly from steels primarily optimized for maximum wear resistance. Its particular strength lies less in an extremely high carbide content and more in the combination of high corrosion resistance, fine microstructure, and balanced mechanical properties. This makes the steel especially interesting for users who regularly use their knife in damp conditions or prefer a particularly low-maintenance blade steel. Its high cleanliness and fine microstructure also support a consistent and stable cutting edge.

Product Highlights:
• Cronidur 30 blade at HRC 59 for a balanced combination of hardness, cutting performance, and edge stability
