JT Pälikkö Bushcraft Puukko hunting knife
Master bladesmith JT Pälikkö crafts his puukko knives in his workshop in the maritime surroundings of Suomenlinna, combining traditional craftsmanship, practicality, and his distinctive style. This bushcraft puukko is a one-of-a-kind piece, emphasizing durability, ergonomics, and meticulous finishing – while also standing as a collectible and a true work of art.
The blade is forged from a combination of RWL-34 and PMC-27 powder steels into a stainless damascus construction, where the layered steels are forged into a lively, woodgrain-like pattern. With a hardness of 58–63 HRC, it offers excellent edge retention and wear resistance. Pälikkö forges his blades from pre-laminated round stock, including manual twisting, ensuring the pattern is integral to the blade structure, not merely surface decoration.
The handle is made from stabilized curly birch burl, combining natural beauty with enhanced durability. Its ergonomic shape ensures a secure and comfortable grip. Bronze fittings complete the knife with a refined and timeless finish.
The included leather sheath features decorative tooling and a wooden insert, protecting the blade and keeping it securely in place. This puukko is a reliable outdoor tool – and equally a refined handmade piece worthy of any collection.
