9" Traditional Leuku Knife

In Karasjok, Norway, they know what a real Sámi working knife should be. The KS9 leuku, or Stuorra-Niibi, is not your typical Scandinavian knife—it’s closer to a small axe in function and spirit. Built for demanding tasks, it handles meat processing, wood splitting, and even shelter building in the wilderness with ease.

The 230 mm carbon steel blade offers the strength needed for heavy-duty work. Its wide, compact birch handle is oiled for grip and durability. The sturdy leather sheath, decorated in traditional Nordic fashion, complements its rugged elegance.

Sámi legend holds that such knives carried magical properties—believed to stop bleeding or ease pain when used in harmony with nature. Whether myth or meaning, this knife carries a presence that’s hard to ignore.

An amazing work of craftsmanship. Came super sharp right out of the box, and went straight to work on yard debris. I love this knife, definitely recommend this to others.

Good service, quality steel, well made. I had it reground to 12.5 degrees; that’s personal choice but it might be nice to offer it as an option.

Leuku on teräpainoinen.

This legendary tool/knife arrived with corrosion on all metal parts, rusty fingerprints on the blade and an overall bad quality finish. I contacted Lamnia and they immediately offered me offered to send me another one. But a warehouse check revealed that they all kinda were in the same condition so they offered a return and refund. So thank you Lamnia for this! And for Stromeng: for this price you should do a better quality control!!

Very beautiful traditional knife. Works very well. I had to add glue to the brass parts, because they were rattling. Didn’t influence the functionality, but annoying. Sheath is vey good. Knife can do a lot. A bit of a one knife for everything. Highly recommended.
