This knife is called extreme for real. The knife blade is extremely difficult to open with one hand. The blade pivot is very stiff. I would have returned it but the return shipping fee is too expensive. Not happy with the purchase.

This is my first framelock folder and I can say that I finally found a lock mechanism that I would depend on: I have Benchmades with the axis lock which are good, Zero T with a linerlock, CRKT with a safety, but the framelock seems like it’s much more secure than any of them. You can do static load tests all you want, and the videos look great, but as I found out with the early Spydercos, you just need to squeeze the handle a little hard and the lock disengages. The newer lock mechanisms are better, but I had given up on locking knives and gone back to carrying slipjoints just because I felt that none of those locks was truly secure if you were working with the knife. This knife is not only secure but thoughtfully designed—the blade has no choil or sharpening notch, which are always getting caught on things so I hate them. The steel is quite extraordinarily good. The handle is very secure. Light enough to carry a long way, just big enough to be very useful. My only gripe is that the stud opener is hard to open with one hand. Maybe it will all loosen up, maybe it won’t, but I’m okay opening it with two hands mostly.
