Two brothers, Steinar and Sigmund Helle started knife production in the old forge at their farm in 1932. The first set of knives was sold on a long trip over the mountains on a bicycle! Today, Helle knives are sold all around the world, but just as then, much of the production is done manually. The philosophy remains the same: no machine can replace skilled craftsmanship. Craftsmen with extensive experience and knowledge still take pride in making each and every Helle knife unique.
Blade #76 is the original blade used in the Helle Alden – a mid-size all-round knife built for reliability and control. The blade features a 105 mm length, slight drop point, and a classic Scandi grind, offering excellent cutting precision and strength.
Made from Sandro’s 12C27 stainless steel, it provides a perfect balance of toughness and corrosion resistance, especially suited for coastal environments and outdoor use.
Ideal for knife makers seeking a versatile and proven blade shape, optimized for medium to large hands and general-purpose fieldwork.
