Folding models and their uses
The Banter and Kitefin families offer two distinct pocket-knife formats. Banter models open with thumb studs, a control positioned on the blade, while Kitefin models use a flipper. Both are folding knives for pocket carry and routine cutting. Individual versions can differ in blade shape, steel, handle material, finish and dimensions, so compare the specifications for the exact configuration rather than assuming every variant is the same. The range also includes fixed-blade knives, which do not fold and suit customers seeking a one-piece format for outdoor or utility tasks.
Materials and construction
We Knife lists blade steels including CPM S35VN, CPM 20CV, MagnaCut, M390, Vanax and Damasteel, alongside handle options such as titanium, carbon fiber, G10, Micarta, copper and wood. These are model-specific choices, not materials shared by every knife. When comparing folders, check the exact version’s blade steel, handle material and opening or locking mechanism, as these affect handling and care. The manufacturer notes that high-carbon blade steels can corrode without proper care; wipe blades dry and maintain them before storage. Its catalogue also includes different opening systems and lock types, so check the individual product details when choosing.
