MK Knives & Tools knives
Polish MK Knives & Tools is an ambitious knife brand that produces knives for a wide range of purposes. The main focus is on various outdoor activities. Knives for hunters, general-purpose EDC knives, tactical knives, survival and bushcraft knives; pretty much anything you can think of.
Founded by knifemaker Marcin Kampka, MK Knives & Tools gives details and materials a prominent role, creating a distinctive look for its knives. Kampka is not content with following one particular formula, but instead aims to find the materials and design language that best suit each individual knife, so that it serves its intended purpose as effectively as possible.
Elmax, Vanadis 23 and the hit steel MagnaCut are all materials we have become accustomed to seeing mainly in genuine premium custom knives. And premium is indeed a word that aptly describes MK Knives & Tools products.
The range includes model series for different purposes, such as the compact MagnaCut-bladed EDC folder Humbler in its various configurations, the Ingeni series built around a sturdy frame lock mechanism and ease of use, the robust and broad-bladed Crowbar survival knife, and the Nomad, which is equally well suited to tactical use and all kinds of bushcraft.
All MK Knives & Tools knives share the same strengths: ergonomics, durability, functionality and visual appeal. For this brand, it is not enough for a knife to simply serve its user. MK Knives & Tools knives must also look good at the same time.
The man behind MK Knives & Tools, Marcin Kampka, practically grew up in a workshop. He became familiar with various tools from an early age, using them not only in the workshop but also on trips into the woods. According to the family story, Kampka was already handling an axe at the age of five under the watchful eye of his grandfather, a carpenter. Later, working together with his father in a steel workshop further strengthened Kampka’s interest in knife making.
Kampka made his first knife at the age of 12, using an old saw blade. He still has this first knife.
Kampka later studied mechanical engineering, and during his studies, knife making grew into an important hobby. At the same time, he deepened his knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, materials engineering, and the design of machines and equipment. In 2014, knife making became a full-time occupation. At the end of the year, the MK-01 was completed, now known as the Nomad.
Kampka’s technical expertise remains strongly present in the manufacturing of MK Knives & Tools knives. He uses a CNC machine he built himself, production equipment of his own design, and solutions developed for different stages of the manufacturing process. Alongside technology, craftsmanship still plays an important role, giving the products their distinctive appearance and refined feel.
