Puukkoseppä Toni Kilpinen knives

Toni Kilpinen’s passion for puukko knives and blades was truly ignited during a blacksmithing course at a folk high school. In the beginning, this dedicated craftsman mainly forged decorative items and tools. Ever inventive, Kilpinen even built his own anvil from railway tracks and a forge from a truck wheel rim.

As his skills grew, Kilpinen attended more knife-making courses and learned from experienced Finnish masters. Over time, his knife-making philosophy became clear, and the technical nuances of his craft took shape. In 2023, Kilpinen graduated as a bladesmith and established his own workshop at home.

In 2021, Kilpinen designed and created the Nurmijärvi Puukko, a regional knife concept meant to give Nurmijärvi its own unique blade - one found nowhere else. The result is a knife whose aesthetics, design, quality, and versatility make it a truly exceptional tool. The Nurmijärvi Puukko is an outstanding ranger knife - a reliable companion for wilderness adventures, woodworking, and hunting alike.

In addition to outdoor knives, Kilpinen crafts handmade kitchen knives and unique collector’s blades that differ greatly from traditional Scandinavian puukko knives - sometimes drawing inspiration from distant cultures and designs.
