Original knives and balisong models
Flytanium’s folding knives serve different preferences for everyday carry. The Arcade uses a button-operated Demko Shark-Lock mechanism, contoured aluminum scales, and interchangeable inlays, so owners can change the handle’s appearance. Its listed configuration pairs a 6061 aluminum handle with an S35VN drop-point blade. The BEEF takes a more straightforward approach, with textured, contoured G-10 scales, a 14C28N drop-point blade, and an ambidextrous crossbar lock. These differences make the Arcade the more customization-focused choice, while the BEEF offers a simple, grippy handle and familiar lock design.
For balisong use
Talisong Z is a live-blade balisong, offered in blade and pivot configurations that vary by version. Its listed specifications include 7075 aluminum handles and an AEB-L blade. The Talisong Z Trainer option substitutes a trainer blade for a live edge. Zenith Trainer 2.0 is a separate trainer model, made with 7075 aluminum handles and a hardened trainer blade; its product page notes that it is not compatible with the Zenith Live Blade. Choose a trainer specifically for flipping practice rather than cutting tasks.
Aftermarket parts and materials
Flytanium began with aftermarket titanium handles for the Benchmade 51 Morpho in 2014 and later expanded into scales and hardware for other knife models. Its replacement scales are model-specific, so check compatibility before selecting parts. Materials vary by product and include titanium, aluminum, G-10, micarta, carbon fiber, brass, and copper. Scales can change a knife’s grip, feel, weight, or appearance, while compatible hardware and inlays offer additional ways to personalize it. Flytanium says it established an in-house machining workshop in Utah in 2018; manufacturing origin varies by product. The Talisong Z is listed as made in the USA, while other models may be made elsewhere.
