Folding and fixed-blade designs
Spartan Blades offers both folding knives and fixed-blade knives, so customers can choose between a blade that folds into its handle for pocket carry and a fixed blade carried in a sheath. The Spartan-Harsey Folder is a prominent folding design developed with knifemaker William W. Harsey Jr. The Enyo takes a different approach: it is a small fixed-blade knife designed for compact carry, including neck or inside-the-waistband carry.
The Enyo’s compact shape includes a skeletonized handle, with openings that reduce bulk, a thumb recess for a more forward grip and a lanyard bead that helps the little finger hold the knife. Its short blade suits small cutting and utility tasks. Exact details can differ between Enyo versions, so check the individual configuration for its steel, finish and included sheath.
Materials and configurations
Materials vary across the range rather than following one brand-wide specification. For example, the Spartan-Harsey Folder Ronin Gun Fighter edition has a CPM MagnaCut blade and a 6AL-4V titanium frame. That edition’s four-inch blade, dual thumb studs and reversible pocket clip are specific to that configuration, not universal features of every Spartan-Harsey Folder. Special editions may also differ in blade steel, handle finish and artwork. Compare the individual model details when choosing a knife for your preferred carry style or cutting tasks.
Company background and warranty
Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey founded Spartan Blades in 2008 in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The company’s history includes a collaboration with Harsey on the Spartan-Harsey Model I in 2010 and the introduction of the Spartan-Harsey Folder in 2016. Spartan Blades states that its lifetime warranty covers defects in materials, finish and workmanship for the original owner. It excludes normal wear, misuse, neglect and failure to perform necessary maintenance.
