Arkansas Tri-Hone stones offer a degree of very fine sharpening and can be used both with water and with oil. They generally have the shape of benchstones. One of the natural mineral commonly used is the novaculite, typical of the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas. They are available in various types and colors.
