Fällkniven FDC Foldable Diamond / Ceramic Whetstone FNFDC

The FDC is a foldable two-sided sharpener with a diamond surface on one side and a super fine ceramic surface on the opposite side. The foldable handles allow for sharpening a knife without risking cutting oneself. As knife steels improve, becoming both stronger and harder, even greater demands are placed on the tools used to maintain them. Based on extensive experience in outdoor use, the diamond sharpener is considered the best tool for standard knife sharpening. Even if a diamond whetstone wears down, it remains flat, which is a great advantage in the long run. In addition, the diamond whetstone works quickly, creating a new edge very fast. No oil or water is needed either. The yellow surface consists of titanium aluminum nitride, which greatly prolongs the life of the sharpener.

The yellow diamond whetstone (25 microns) is used to form a new, thinner edge, while the white ceramic whetstone (9 microns) is for polishing the edge. The edge can be polished several times before switching to the diamond stone. The whetstone comes with instructions in English on how to use it. For cleaning, use some washing-up liquid and hot water. To clean the ceramic stone, try an eraser or warm water with washing-up liquid. Like all diamond sharpeners, this whetstone is slightly rough at first but smooths out after a period of use. After many hundreds of sharpenings, consider sending the knife in for a new factory edge.
