Spyderco Tri-Angle CBN Cubic Boron Nitride 204CBN sharpening rods are made of cubic boron nitride (CBN), one of the hardest known abrasive materials after diamond. CBN offers excellent wear resistance and thermal conductivity, making it suitable for sharpening hard steels as well.

The triangular sharpening rods are designed for use with the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker 204MF sharpening system, but can also be used on their own. The triangular shape allows you to sharpen both plain and serrated edges. The groove running along the length of each rod is suitable for sharpening fishing hooks, awls and other pointed tools.

Thanks to the effective cutting action of CBN, the rods are particularly well suited for restoring bite to dull edges. Only light pressure should be used during sharpening to minimize wear on the abrasive material.
