Description
Old times village blacksmiths made many kind of forging jobs including puukko blades. Blacksmiths also made handles, but they did not make leather works. Thus, puukkos were often sold without a sheath. Village smith puukko did not have bolsters. Blades and handles were individually fitted together by burning a hole into the wood with the red hot tang, and after hardening, the tang was strictly hammered into the hole. (today epoxy is used).
Blade:
80CrV2 double hardened (edge 63 HRC, spine 50 HRC) blade. The 3" (75 mm) long and 1/8" (3.3 mm) thick blade has wood carving V grind. The hidden tang has slots and it is epoxy glued into the handle.
Handle
The 4" (105 mm) long birch handle is treated with lampblack and linseed oil. The finishing is rough and brutal.
Sheath
The puukko is sold without a sheath

Nice and practical rustical knife.
Good blade, handel out of line
Sehr leicht, extrem scharf, wunderschön und rustikal
Habe analog zu einem Juha Perttula Whittling Puukko den Griff ebenfalls etwas angepasst. Das ist auch ein großer Vorteil bei diesen Puukkos, dass man den Griff ohne größeren Aufwand an die eigenen Bedürfnisse anpassen kann. Dieser Puukko passt nun auch perfekt in die Lederscheide eines anderen Puukko-Herstellers. Dieser Puukko fasziniert mich auch deswegen, da er sehr den alten ursprünglichen Modellen entspricht und von daher meinen Vorstellungen von einem guten Messer für den täglichen Gebrauch entspricht. Den Gebrauchswert empfinde ich ebenfalls als sehr hoch. Vielleicht werde ich mir beide Modelle noch mal bestellen, als Reserve sozusagen. Auf jeden Fall werde ich beide Modelle weiter empfehlen.

Great simple puukko. The blade is a razor, the handle is very comfortable and the knife looks sturdy. The quality is indisputable. Actually I preferred the old version of this puukko without visible ricasso (but it’s matter of taste I guess)
Zeer goede puukko, eigenlijk zijn al de Juha Perttula messen goed.
Liggen goed in de hand voor de meeste taken. Het lemmet is zeer goed.
Ik heb er een berkenschors schede voor gemaakt om de authentieke look te behouden.
Прекрасный нож. Лежит в руке как влитой. Бритвенный заточка. Держит её достаточно долго. Однако, клинок склонен к патинированию. После работы по продуктам обязательно протереть и нанести масло. Поставляется без ножен.
