Böker

Started from a small hardware factory of the Böker family in Germany in the 17th century, Böker became famous in 1869 when they launched their tree-brand knives developed in cooperation with the well-known cutlery-expert Hermann Heuser. The history of Böker has been affected by eventful times, but two things remained: passion and enthusiasm for extraordinary knives. Böker was one of the first companies to offer ceramic knives as a featured product line.

Description

The legendary Boker Leopard-Damast follows in the footsteps of the Leopard 1, the first main battle tank developed and manufactured in Germany after the Second World War, in this impressive rose gold version, which is strictly limited to 100 pieces worldwide. Its sophisticated concept was convincing across the board and made the Leopard 1 known worldwide. As the global arms race accelerated during the Cold War, the call for further development of the tank grew louder and louder in the 1960s and ultimately led to the development of the Leopard 2 main battle tank. As early as 1965, a study was developed that was christened the "Gold-plated Leopard" and offered significant improvements to increase the combat effectiveness of the Leopard 1 tank. A welcome opportunity for Boker to develop another gold-plated version of the successful Boker Leopard-Damast III in 2024, which has been a hit for many years with its blade made from the tank's gun barrel steel. The Boker Leopard-Damast Rose Gold is equipped with a blade made of 300 layers of hand-forged Leopard-Damast, which is finished with an exclusive coating of real rose gold. The reddish hue of the gold alloy is achieved by the finely balanced addition of copper. All components such as the thumb stud, blade and handle screws, spacers, liner, clip and clip replacement plate are also finished in this warm shade of gold. The convertible clip (tip-up/tip-down) allows the knife to be carried in the desired position. It is locked by a 1.5 millimeter thick liner lock. The high-quality inlay in the CNC-milled handle made of hardcoat-anodized AlMgSi1 aluminium harmoniously picks up on the Damascus structure of the blade. Each knife in this special edition combines history and modern technology in a particularly elegant way. Made entirely by hand in the Boker Manufactory Solingen. Delivered with an individual serial number in an elegant floating display with a certificate of authenticity.
