Böker

Started from a small hardware factory of the Böker family in Germany in the 17th century, Böker became famous in 1869 when they launched their tree-brand knives developed in cooperation with the well-known cutlery-expert Hermann Heuser. The history of Böker has been affected by eventful times, but two things remained: passion and enthusiasm for extraordinary knives. Böker was one of the first companies to offer ceramic knives as a featured product line.

Description

In tradition of the middleage european damascus sword smithing art we present from our knife manufactory our successful Swiss Dagger in an exclusive collector’s edition.

Four bands / strips of twisted damascus, consisting of a nickel and manganese toolsteel, is forged to an outstanding blade in perfect symmetry and beauty in a very difficult smithing process. Each strip / band is made of a single damascus packet, which is first forged by hand and afterward twisted 15 times. Four of these twisted packets are fire welded and forged to ist later blade shape.

The achieved structure of the different layers guarantee not only legendary strength of the damascus blade, but it creates the unique pattern, which stands for twisted damascus. Blades of twisted damascus stood for the highest class of smithing art in the middelage, which was only available for the high nobility. This historical and very complex forging process, which is only done by very few damascus forgers, is done by Andreas Henrichs perfectly and exclusively for Boker.

The descreet glimmer of the black, hand selected ebony wood and builds a perfect unity with the highly polished handguard and pommel. The sheath for this model has been made especially for this knife and is sewn by hand, and underlines the exclusiveness of this collector’s piece. It shows ist individual serial number and it is strictly limited (250 pcs. Europe and 250 pcs. USA).
