Designed by renowned custom knifemaker Ed Schempp, the aptly named Spyderco Balance is a remarkable study in symmetry. Its perfectly balanced closed profile transforms into an exceptionally ergonomic cutting tool when opened, offering the cutting performance of a much larger knife.

Originally introduced in 2010 and later discontinued, the Balance now returns as a limited-edition Sprint Run model. Its distinctive blade is crafted from Spyderco's proprietary CPM SPY27 particle metallurgy stainless steel, delivering an outstanding balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. A generous forward finger choil provides excellent control for precise cutting tasks.

The knife's unique handle combines a precision-machined stainless steel scale that forms the foundation of the Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism with a peel-ply textured cobalt blue G-10 scale on the opposite side. The cobalt blue color is a signature feature of Spyderco's CPM SPY27 family, giving the knife a distinctive appearance.

A reversible stainless steel pocket clip supports left- or right-side, tip-up carry.
