Very useful axe

I like this axe very much. It is a lot like a tomahawk with a premium steel blade. Very lightweight. As a matter of fact, it weighs the same as a small tomahawk that I own. I haven't had a chance to use it yet so I won't comment on how it chops, etc.

It could be a great hatchet but quality control is bad - its head turned sideways so hand move is not natural, odd. Contacted Gransfors through their website - no help at all, zero. Also, it is a very small hatchet not axe by any means. So, for real splitting ( even smaller logs) you would need a different model. Would not recommend it. If I could return it I definitely would.

With its ~$150USD cost, many people will be put off by its high price. To that I say, look at the knives you bought but don't use sitting in a drawer or box somewhere! People put off by the high purchase price will be overlooking one of the best light axes or hatchets available too. I have tried Prandi and Rinaldi options (a good option for their pricepoint) and most of the more common mass-market hatchets and light axe options. This little hatchet hits the 'sweet spot' for me personally and has a bit of the "Goldilocks' appeal being neither too hot or too cold nor too big or too small ;-). The head and 'bite' is pretty small which might be a bit shocking for an expensive hatchet like this but, it is part of the appeal for me. It has enough of a bite and head weight to do real 'light' chopping efficiently while being easy to carry. I'm not really a bushcrafter but, I could see using this as a pseudo-knife replacement for times I don't want to carry a fixed blade and a hatchet or axe. This little gem is the first hatchet I have found I can walk around with while sitting in the hammer loop of my jeans (think carpenter style dockers or jeans). The thin straight haft (handle) rests naturally against my leg and doesn't swing or constantly get hit my leg motion. This leads to a very practical 'walking around' option when I'm out on my property. The haft itself is pretty slim which matches the axe head of this hatchet. The metal band will certainly help protect it from overstrikes so, it should last a long time with normal use. While I wouldn't want a chop anything large, it is certainly capable if you are willing to spend the time on the task at hand. For myself, it is a very good option for limbing and other similar light property maintenance tasks. Overall, an excellent option for some who wants a light ax or hatchet for camping, a backpack or, 'walking around'. While it will be outperformed by other axes, they are unlikely to be taken out into the world as frequently so, what good do they do sitting in the barn back home? While it won't replace my larger light axe options, it is the one I will most likely have on my person when I need an axe or hatchet.

Leider ein völliger Fehlkauf! Ich dachte, dass der Kopf 0,5 kg hat....und nicht das ganze Beil. So ist es einfach nur ein extrem teures, hervorragend verarbeitetes "Kinderspielzeug".

Очень хорошая вещь мастерская работа

Это больше аксессуар от хорошей фирмы, чем полноценный топор. Подойдёт для легкоходов экономящих место в рюкзаке. Сделан превосходно. Подумайте сами что можно сделать топором в полкило? Если придумали - смело покупайте.
