Not suitable for fire starting
Overall, the pen is well-built — solid aluminum body, writes reliably, and feels sturdy in hand. However, the fire starter function is a major letdown.
The ferro rod is poorly secured and falls out during striking. Worse, it’s nearly impossible to generate usable sparks, even with proper technique. This makes the survival feature unreliable in field conditions.
If you’re buying this pen for writing and EDC use — it’s fine. But if you’re expecting a working firestarter as part of your survival setup, look elsewhere.
