Otter 261 Pocket Stainless fällkniv

This is reliable and well build classic pocket knife. The fashion of the old school design is definitely there. The used materials are more simple ones and correlates well with overall appearance and vibe of the knife. The fit of the details is great as well as the operation (open/close) of the blade. The finish of the blade and the bolsters on the handle, both satin, are done well. Have to mention that the corners of the back bolsters are left a kind of not smoothed, at least in my taste, which does not feels in the hand but catches the eye. Of course, to someone this might add more value to the overall appearance of the knife. Note that the curly birch wooden scales comes factory unprotected. Therefore, some care on them (oiling or alternative treatment) is required. In work, the knife feels solid and reliable in the hand, with good balance. The blade is made out of low-midrange stainless steel (4034, which is in the range of 420), but shows up more than enough edge retention to accomplish any regular tasks.
