Helle Dyre Vaa kniv, Light, CB
The Helle Dyre Vaa Light CB brings back one of Helle’s most recognisable classics.
Originally launched in 1978, the Dyre Vaa became especially popular among hunters during the 1980s. Its place in Norwegian knife history was secured when King Olav used it to cut the ribbon at the opening of the first winter road across Strynefjellet, giving rise to the nickname “The King’s Knife”.
To celebrate King Harald V’s visit to Askvoll municipality, Helle produced 500 new Dyre Vaa knives in a selection of variations. One was presented to the king.
The Light CB version features an oiled light curly birch handle that highlights the natural grain of the wood. Its long, curved trailing point blade is made from polished H3LS steel and finished with a practical Scandi grind, making it well suited for hunting and general outdoor use.
Brass fittings and leather spacers complete the traditional construction. A classic ox leather sheath shaped to follow the blade is included.
