Iconic knife. The benchmark to judge other locking knives by. The plain version is the most aesthetically appealing. The integral lock and washer pivot set it apart. It is not as fast and light to open as a Spyderco but the deliberate intention of expecting the owner to dismantle the knife and lubricate the washer and reassemble the knife to tighten it so it feels just right for “you” to open smoothly is probably what sets it apart and creates a bond with the knife. The Magnacut steel is a performance gain on previous models but all have used excellent steel. It comes sharp. Mine scored 100g on a BESS test which is excellent but will improve with the right technique when re sharpening. Not needed yet but my small Inkosi scores 75g which is about perfect for a folder for hunting and general use. It too is in Magnacut. The best angle is 17 degrees each side for longevity on edge retention. The Senbenza has a sandblast titanium finish which is noticeably more grippy than the smooth titanium on the Inkosi I have and I like it. If you were bleeding out a carcass and got blood on the handle by bad technique the extra grip would be welcome. The knife has been long awaited for me as they are hard to find. They sell out so fast! Highly recommended. Easy to see why they have legendary status.
