Somewhat disappointed with the finish, for the price.
I understand that this is a dagger, and does not have the correct geometry for a sharp cutting edge, nor is that the intended design, however... When I received the knife the finish on the edge was really poor, to the point of the entire edge being rounded, including the tip. I ended up taking it to a local sharpening service who brought the edge to a point (in as much as the geometry allows), and the knife has a much better overall appearance from it. At this price... not great.
Second issue is that the very dark, glossy appearance used in pretty much all promotional pictures is actually only due to a thick coat of oil on the blade. If you wipe off the excess oil, the blade is actually much lighter, with a matte finish. You get used to it, but you feel kind of lied to.
Third, due to the polymer molded sheath, it rattles. It's not snug with the knife like other kinds of sheath material.
But on to the good notes;
Knife feels sturdy, and has a comfortable substance in the hand despite its very thin profile and light weight. The hilt ring makes pulling out the knife and adjusting your grip very easy, very natural, and also helps prevent the knife from slipping out of the hand. The handle in general is just great, with contours in all the right places.
The sheath retention mechanism is very reliable, very satisfying to operate, and if operated with the thumb, places your hand in a perfect grip before you even pull it out with your thumb sliding right onto the thumb grooves on the back of the blade.
In short: it's nice but for the price the finish quality is not what I expected.
