This highly requested and praised knife by Juha Perttula is suitable for hunting, fishing and hiking but it truly excels as a carving knife.

The blade is made from 80CrV2 steel. It is essentially 0.8% carbon steel, with chromium and vanadium added to ensure successful heat treatment. A remarkable feature of the blade is its dual hardening. First, the blade is hardened and tempered to the hardness of a leaf spring. Then, the cutting edge is rehardened and tempered to razor hardness. As a result, the edge reaches a hardness of 63 HRC and the spine 50 HRC. Thus, the blade won’t break during use and cuts aggressively.

Please note that in this updated version, the blade is 5 mm shorter than the original. The guard-equipped ferrule is now made of brass.

The handle is made from curly birch and treated with linseed oil varnish.

The sheath is made from 2 mm thick vegetable-tanned leather.

Here's a new knife I found while looking for a whittling knife with broader appeal. It is handmade by someone who knows more about hard steel than i can imagine. It came very sharp, and can be brought to a higher standard than that. I like the simplicity and the guard. And the handle is comfortable for my big mitts. AND it is simply treated so that it has some tooth and won't slip easily. This guy only makes a few types of knives. I think its's the best I've run across.

Excellent woodcraft blade, I build fires nightly on winter and it has held up very well for 80crv2

Early days but I’m loving this knife so far. Incredibly sharp and cuts like crazy. At rc62/63 it holds a great edge and is very comfortable in hand. Brilliant sheath design to and nice little details abound such as a cover over the snap closing so the metal doesn’t mark the wooden handle and a plastic insert in the sheath for safety. Overall a beautifully made pratical outdoors blade.

This is a great little knife. Holds an edge for a long time. The sheath is grt. I like the sheath more than the traditional puukko sheaths. For a carving, utility knife, I highly recommend it

This is an excellent little knife. I use it for it's intended purpose...whittling & carving. It's so sharp, I can carve tiny little slivers off a wooden kitchen match! The curly birch handle has a beautiful grain, & the handle was finished leaving a slight texture to it for a good grip. I'm very impressed with the 80CRV2 steel. I have 3 knives now with this steel, & with this excellent heat treatment, this steel takes & holds a very sharp edge. The leather sheath is nicely done as well. I'm very pleased with this knife!

5 tähden veistelypuukko. Kahva hyvin käteen sopiva ja terä partaveitsen terävä. Puukko saapui tilauksen jälkeisenä päivänä.

Puukko on ulkonäöltään siisti. Vähän epäilytti sormisuoja siksi että olen saanut niistä rakkoja sormeen. Mutta kun sillä veistin, niin ehkäpä se puoltaa tässä puukossa paikaansa. Hinta vaikutti tyyriiltä, mutta kun odotan terältä korkeaa laatua, niin jos tämä vaatimus toteutuu niin ei hinta kovin paha ole. Olen testannut terää kuivaan koivu klapiin ja hyvin puree, enkä saanut terää tylstymään sillä testillä. Mutta vasta myöhemmin, kun enemmän sitä on tullut käytettyä, paljastuu että onko se viiden tähden arvoinen.

Unbeatable knife for the price, nice sheath. Use it as a lederhosen knife. Lanyard can be removed from sheath. Very sharp. Great workmanship.

I was looking for high HRC knives and got a RoselliUHC. This Puukko from Juha is also very hard but with a 'softer'/flexibel spine, so it won't brake. (Did not compare jet) Very well made! Clever holdster from good leather with a neck string. Thank you Juha, for bringing your knowledge into this knive jungle, making and selling this outside of Finland.
