Great "reinvention" of the classic 110. I always wanted a 110, but the classic look / materials did not really fit the rest of my EDC pack. The new aluminum / micarta combo keeps the form and style but on a subtle way also keeping the practicality of the old model. This became a really good EDC model and fits the same sheaths perfectly what the old model uses (it does not come with a sheath and you need to remove the clip).
This is an excellent knife! This new version of the famous 110 has almost exactly the same dimensions than the original iconic 110. The same blade shape, handle etc. all is identical. This gives the knife the same great feeling in the hand than the original. Buck just used modern materials, S30v for the blade, micarta and aluminum for the handles, added thumbstuds and a pocketclip. The only thing that always bothered me with the original was the weight. This new one see al huge reduction in the weight which makes it perfect for me. Well done Buck!! I just love this knife! I strongly recommend it!

A good looking knife that works well as a lightweight hunting/outdoors knife.
The closing mechanism is a bit too hard to operate for the knife to be good for EDC, but it can work as an EDC too if this doesn't bother you.
The blade was very sharp out of the box (though Spydercos are still sharper from the factory).
There is a tiny bit of sideways movement of the blade when the blade is fully opened and locked in position. No vertical movement at all, though.
