At Lamnia we want to take care of the environment like we take care of our customers. We value all things done for the good of the environment, whether they are big or small. We are constantly trying to find more sustainable methods to pursue in our business.
We aim to minimize the consequences of our actions as an eCommerce company and decrease the impact on the environment. Here are a few examples of how we’re making it happen:

Our service provider in domestic deliveries is Posti -the Finnish Post and in international deliveries we use UPS. We compensate emissions caused by our company’s logistics through Posti Green – emission compensation. Emissions caused by deliveries and transportation are evened out by eco projects to help the environment. This means that emissions are compensated by diminishing them somewhere else. Lamnia also uses emission compensation provided by UPS. UPS-emission compensation directs our company’s funds to the purifying process of sewerages, collecting fumes formed at dumps and to planting forests.
Packaging
We recycle the packaging materials of imported products. We also aim to make our own packaging as sustainable as possible and to ensure that the effects on our environment are as minimal as possible. This is why we pack our deliveries into recycled cardboard and use biodegradable packing material; corn- or recycled paper-based.
Offices
At our offices we minimize printing unless we must, we use recycled paper, and print the needed documents double-sided. We have LED-lighting at our premises and use green energy as our electricity source (hydro and wind power). We are also decreasing the use of energy in many of our daily routines: We make sure that unneeded appliances, air conditioning and lighting are turned off at night. In addition, we have dropped the room temperature at our premises by 2-degrees Celsius.
Towards a greener and more sustainable future
To us, it is a matter of honor to stand for green values, and we will continue to do so while still evolving in the process. Our next step toward a more sustainable business is for example to switch all packing tapes from plastic to paper based. We will also replace plastic shopping bags to more environment friendly in our store.
We want to make it easier for each and every one of our Lamnia customers to make more sustainable choices. Therefore, we have created an icon that will be granted to the products that have been manufactured sustainably.
