J-P Peltonen is a man who knows knives – and the conditions where a proper knife is truly needed. Peltonen designed the Sissipuukko while serving in the Finnish Defence Forces. The Sissipuukko M95 is an excellent military knife – but one that also meets the needs of civilians.

The Sissipuukko is a typical Finnish tool – a versatile helper in the wilderness and extreme conditions. Many remember it from the army for many it is a familiar tool for official duties. Hunters use the Sissipuukko for processing game, and campers rely on it around the evening campfire.

The thick blade is made of PTFE-coated carbon steel. PTFE (Teflon) protects the otherwise corrosion-prone carbon steel and reduces friction and contamination. The coating also meets food safety certification requirements. The blade endures tougher use and is easy to sharpen again when needed. The M95 version features a 15 cm blade length.

The TPV handle (thermoplastic vulcanizate) has a rubber-like feel. The material is practically indestructible. It withstands wear and bumps, chemicals, and weather and temperature changes. It also has excellent recyclability properties. Special attention has been paid to the handle’s design and texture. It stays firmly gripped even with wet hands and holds its ground in any conditions.
