Even named Hammer-Poll Axe. Designed for splitting apart large chunks of wood, "rounds". The maul's head is heavier compared to the Splitting Axes. The poll is designed for pounding on a plitting wedge.
The head weighs 5 1/2 lb and has a 2 1/2" face. The hickory handle is 31", has circular grooves at the grip, a steel collar near the head, and comes with a grain leather sheath.

Great splitting axe. Well balanced, sharp out of the box, easy to re-sharpen, and makes short work of most of the logs we have.

Тяжёлый колун с функцией кувалды. Не может быть основным(из за веса), лучше как дополнительный. С упрямыми сучковатыми дровами справляется бодрее чем обычные колуны, но предел есть и у него. На что расчитывал, то и получил.
P.S. Рукоятка на нём к окончании обработана грубо , почти с занозами. Не знаю это брак или новый подход к топоростроению с которым я не ознакомлен?
