This is a great carving axe! I couldn't be happier with it!

Everything about this axe makes it just as much a piece of artwork as is a highly regulated workman's tool. Couldn't recommend it enough. The handle design works fluidly with the edge geometry, making each slice effortless and efficient. Balance is perfect, and it's not too light and it's not too heavy. If this axe becomes available (would recommend signing up for the email notification), you'll have to be quick to purchase it. Within a couple hours, the product was out of stock. 10/10

This axe is absolutely perfect in my opinion, I have used it now for many projects, and it exceeded expectations for spoon carving. Highest quality and excellent design put it above all others I own. Highly recommend.

Excellent axe! Made by one of the leading smiths probably in the world. The handle is nicely carved, with a texture that aids in gripping. It could be a bit thick and long for some but that can be remedied simply. The axe head is well shaped and quite sharp.

Die Axt ist hervorragend verarbeitet und absolut in Ordnung, nur empfinde ich den Preis im Vergleich mit ähnlichen Produkten (z.B.Torsip Carving) als zu hoch. skandinavisches Produkt hin oder her....

Bushcraft Canada calls Svante Djärv's axes "possibly the best axes in the world". Well, that's probably hard to proove, but I can attest to this: three out of three SD axes, which I own, were absolutely perfect on arrival. Immaculately made. All three were among the sharpest tools I ever held in my hands, sharper than most knives - which should be impossible, given the grind, but I could push cut through paper easily. I love the profiled handles, too. Any criticism? Well, the price. They are worth it, and Svante needs to get his investments back, but still: nearly 100 more than the rather similar Gränsfors large carving axe, and d the SD comes without a sheath - you get one on Svante's website, but that's another 30,- including shipping. But, I guess, Christmas is when you need it to be. It's when you buy one of these :-)
